The 650 cc cruiser from the popular motorcycle manufacturer Royal Enfield is one of the most-awaited motorcycles of the brand and the company is going to unveil this 650 cc cruiser very soon. If the news is to be believed, this motorcycle is likely to be named Super Meteor and it can be presented to the world for the first time at the 2021 EICMA show in Italy.

The Super Meteor name is not new to the company, as the name was first used for the US market in the early 50s. The Super Meteor will become the most expensive Royal Enfield in India when launched, which will be sold as a premium cruiser to India as well as other parts of the world but will be priced competitively.

In terms of styling, the bike will feature rear-swept handlebars and forward-set footpegs, which will provide better ergonomics. The motorcycle will feature a round headlight with chrome bezels, a teardrop fuel tank, split-style seats, twin-sided exhaust canisters, and round taillights, while it will get twin-sided exhaust pipes like the current 650 cc motorcycle.

Powering the Super Meteor is a 648 cc, air and oil-cooled parallel-twin engine similar to that of Royal Enfield's twin 650 cc bike, which develops 47 bhp of power and 52 Nm of torque in its current form. A six-speed gearbox will be mated to this powertrain.

As per the images revealed during testing, the suspension setup will include upside-down forks at the front and twin-sided springs at the rear, while braking will be handled by disc brakes on both wheels. This upcoming cruiser motorcycle will be equipped with alloy wheels, which will have tubeless tires.

The Super Meteor is expected to get Royal Enfield's Tripper navigation system, which is already available on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the Himalayan. The system connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth and provides turn-by-turn navigation. Apart from this, electronic rider aids are likely to be minimal on the bike and dual-channel ABS should be included in the safety net.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor in India is likely to be launched in early 2022 and may also be available with a host of accessories and MIY programs like other RE motorcycles. Royal Enfield also recently launched the new generation classic 350 in India with a starting price of Rs 1.84 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Thus, the upcoming Super Meteor is going to be the brand's next biggest launch after the Classic 350.
