Audi e-Tron electric SUV launched in India, starting at Rs 99.99 lakh

It comes in two body styles: SUV and Sportback.

Audi has finally launched its first electric SUV, the e-Tron in India. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 99.99 lakh. The e-Tron will be available in two body types and three variants, which are priced as follows:

Its range and performance have been told from the number given in the variants name of the e-Tron. The e-Tron 50 is powered by a 71 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor setup that will produce 313 bhp of power and 540 Nm of torque. Its range has been given by WLTP as 264-379 km. On the other hand, the e-Tron 55 gets a more powerful battery pack of 95 kWh and motor producing 408 Ps of power and 664 Nm of torque. The WLTP has given its range as 359-484 Km.

Both the variants will support fast charging, while the 55 variants can also be charged with a 150 kW DC charger. To increase the range, it has also been given the feature of three-level regenerative braking.

The rear profile of the e-Tron Sportback is quite sporty, with a coupe-like roofline. At the same time, the design of its standard body type has been kept similar to other SUVs of Audi. It will take 5.7 seconds for the e-Tron 55 Sportback to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph.

 

The exterior of the Audi e-Tron may be similar to other Audi cars, but its interior is quite different. In this Audi's latest virtual cockpit has been given. It also gets a head-up display, 10.1- inch central touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.6-inch touchscreen display below it for four-zone climate control. Apart from this, features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera and 16-speaker Bang&Olufsen audio system have also been kept in this new electric car.

Audi will also offer various incentives and charging facilities to its customers on the purchase of this vehicle. At the same time, different types of service packages will also be given with this SUV. On purchasing this SUV in 2021, a portable charger of 11 kW will be given along with a complimentary wall box charger.

The car competes in the segment with the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the Jaguar I-Pace. In its base variant, it will prove to be a very affordable luxury electric SUV but its range is also very less.
