Volkswagen Virtus will be launched in India by 2022, this car can replace Vento

Volkswagen will launch the car to replace its Vento sedan by the first quarter of 2022.

This upcoming compact sedan can be named 'Virtus'.

It will get a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox option with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine (115 Ps).

A more powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine option (150 Ps) can also be found in this new sedan.

Volkswagen Virtus will be priced higher than Vento. Its price can be kept between 10 lakh and 15 lakh rupees.

Volkswagen is currently working on a new sedan that will replace the Vento. This upcoming car can be named 'Virtus'. In India, it will be launched by the first quarter of 2022.

The Virtus sedan has been spotted numerous times during testing in India. The vehicle is already available for sale in Brazil. Let us tell you that this car was unveiled in the international market in 2017. Hopefully, this model can be introduced in India with some cosmetic changes. The Brazilian model seen in the photos is yet to receive facelift update, so there is speculation that the model coming to India may be the facelift version. The upcoming car will be built on a platform consisting of Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun compact SUVs.

This compact sedan from Volkswagen can offer the same engine options as compact SUVs. It can be given a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine which can be capable of generating 115 Ps of power and torque of 175 Nm. Along with the engine, it will get 6-speed manual and automatic transmission option. Apart from this, it can also be given a more powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine option, which can have a power output of 150 Ps and 250 Nm. The compact SUVs will get 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox options with this engine.

Features like LED headlamps, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6 airbags and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster can be offered in this vehicle. Its cabin will be brand new. It could be more luxurious and roomy than the Vento.

The vehicle will compete with Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna and Toyota Yaris. It is speculated that the company may continue to sell its existing Vento Sedan as a more affordable option.
