Skoda Auto is about to launch four new models in India this year. The first of these is the Skoda Kushaq SUV which will be introduced on March 18 and will be launched in the coming months. Apart from Skoda Kushaq, the company is working on launching CNG cars in India. Skoda India sales and marketing director, Zac Hollis, has stated that the company will soon start manufacturing CNG cars in India.
In response to a question asked on Twitter, Zac Hollis said that the company will soon bring the Rapid's CNG model in India and testing of it has started in the company's plant. Let us know that Skoda Rapid and Octavia's CNG models are already being sold in some countries and now preparation have started to launch them in India as well.
The car is available with a 1.0-litre turbocharged inline petrol engine that generates 110 Ps of power and 175 Nm of torque. The Skoda Rapid offers a 6-speed manual gearbox as well as a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Skoda and Volkswagen both had stopped the production of diesel cars after BS6 emission regulations came into force in India. Now due to rising fuel prices in India, car customers are looking for an alternative to petrol and diesel cars. Speaking of Skoda Kushaq, it is a mid-size SUV that will compete with SUVs like Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, MG Hector, Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The Skoda Kushaq will be available with two turbocharged petrol engine options. The first engine is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI petrol engine, which generates 110 Ps of power and torque of 175 Nm. At the same time, the second engine is a 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, which produces 150 Ps of power and 250 Nm of torque.
