MG Hector and Hector Plus now comes with the CVT gearbox

MG Motors India has expanded the Hector SUV line-up and launched the Hector with the CVT automatic gearbox option in the market.

Hector SUV now equipped with a CVT gearbox. It also has a 6-speed DCT gearbox option.

It has a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 143 Ps of power and 250 Nm of torque.

The price of its CVT variant is equal to the DCT variant.

The price of Hector in India is between Rs 16.52 lakh to Rs 18.10 lakh. At the same time, the price of Hector Plus starts from Rs 17.22 lakh and goes up to Rs 18.90 lakh.

MG motors launched the 2021 Hector in January with several cosmetic changes and new features. Now the company has equipped Hector and Hector Plus with CVT transmission. The new CVT gearbox option in Hector and Hector Plus (6-seater) is included in only two variants, Smart and Sharp. The prices of CVT and DCT variants of both these SUVs are kept equal. The Hector SUV gets an 8-step CVT gearbox with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. Eco and Sport modes are also available with this engine gearbox option. This engine is capable of generating 143 Ps of power and 250 Nm of torque. Apart from this, a 6-speed DCT gearbox is also available with this engine. This engine also comes with mild-hybrid technology. It also has a 2.0-litre diesel engine with a power output of 170 Ps and 350 Nm. It has a 6-speed manual gearbox standard with the engine.

Apart from this, no further changes have been made to this SUV as only the gearbox has been updated. The new Hector features 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome front grille and glossy black tail garnish. The new dual-tone Champagne black treatment and many new features are also available in its cabin.

As new features, it has wireless charging, ventilated seats, Hinglish voice commands, auto-dimming IRVM and remote control via smartwatch. Apart from this, it also gets six airbags, 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen unit, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, connected car technology and powered front seats as before.

In the segment, the Hector SUV competes with the Mahindra XUV500, Jeep Compass and Tata Harrier. In the case of cars equipped with CVT gearboxes, Hector also competes against Kia Seltos and Hyundai Creta in the Segment.
