The company has appointed three people before stepping in here: Vaibhav Taneja, Venkatrangam Shreeram and David Jon Fonstein as directors. With an authorised share capital of Rs 15 lakh and a paid-up capital of Rs 1 lakh, the company has set up its headquarters in the country's IT hub.

Recently, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk had indicated via Twitter that his company was going to knock in India soon. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also confirmed that Tesla is going to start functioning in India in early 2021. At the moment, Tesla will only commence sales here and if the company gets a good response then it can start manufacturing its models here too.

The Tesla Model 3 may be the company's first model in India to be launched in the second half of 2021. Currently, this car will be sold in India by importing it completely, due to which its price will be higher, which can be up to 60 lakh rupees. However, customers can be given incentives and rebates on the purchase of this electric car by the government.

Its standard variant has a range of 420 km while the long-range variant has a range of 560 km. In India, the company can launch both these variants.

The biggest feature of Tesla cars is that they get Autopilot Autonomous Driving Assist which is rarely found in any other car. However, this technology will not be introduced in the Tesla company's Indian cars in India at present.

It is said that Tesla is in talks to start operations in other states of India as well. Here the Model 3 can be launched in June this year.
