Car manufacturing company Volkswagen has given an electric update to its best selling SUV the Volkswagen Tiguan in the overseas market and is now introduced with a new hybrid powertrain and some minor cosmetic changes. The updated Volkswagen SUV will be sold in the UK as a 2021 model, for which the company has started booking. The plug-in hybrid version of the SUV will be sold alongside its existing variant.

If we talk about the looks of this car, so the IQ LED matrix headlights and a new redesigned radiator grille have been used in its front face. Along with that both it's front and rear bumpers are slightly enlarged in size as well as its front bumper is given air intake with a twirl pattern. Talking about another noticeable change, it has been given charging point, which the company has placed near the left front fender of this car.

Talking about the interior, then the major highlights of this car is that it now comes with the latest and bigger infotainment system of VW, which comes with the wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity. Along with that it also comes with online-based services and convenience features along with the company's 'V-Connect' technology. This car also has features like a digital instrument console, three-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control. Apart from this, the car also gets standard features like front and rear park distance control and multi-functional lather wrapping steering wheel and paddle shifter. But it's main special features is the synergy of its engine and electric motor.

The new Volkswagen Tiguan E-Hybrid features an electric motor with a 1.4-litre, TSI turbo petrol engine. This engine and electric motor combine provide 243 bhp power and 400 Nm of torque. The company has used a 13 kW hour battery for this electric motor, which helps the SUV achieve an estimated WLTP range of 50 km. It is mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.

According to the information, the new Tiguan E-Hybrid has been introduced in three trims. These three trims include Life, Elegance and R-Line. Currently, Volkswagen has not given any information to bring this car to India shortly. Let me tell you that recently Volkswagen has also introduced the most powerful variant of it's SUV Volkswagen Tiguan till date. The company has introduced this performance variant under the name Tiguan R.
