TVS Zeppelin and Creon Electric may launch in India in 2021

The launch of the TVS Zeppelin Cruiser and Creon electric scooter in India is expected by the end of 2021.

TVS Motor Company introduced its electric scooter iQube earlier this year and used a Li-ion battery pack. The 4.4 kW electric motor fitted in this scooter can give a range of 75 km. The Scooter has also got ride modes, park assist, smartphone integration etc.

Now the Hosur-based manufacturer wants to expand its portfolio in the coming years, with electric vehicles to be the flagship. A few weeks ago, its flagship bike 2021 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V debuted with adjustable suspension, drive modes ( Rain, sport and city), adjustable clutch and brake lever.

It is being told that in 2021, the company may introduce a new motorcycle base on the 310 cc platform, and we also except a production version of the Creon. At the 2018 Auto Expo, TVS showcased the Creon and the Zeppelin concept and received good feedback from the public. The concept Creon model featured three Li-ion batteries and was equipped with a 12 KW electric motor.

This electric motor claimed zero to 60 kmph in just 5.1 seconds. The company had said that it can covers a distance of 80 km on a single charge. Apart from this, with the DC fast charger it can be charged from zero to 80 per cent in just one hour. The company can place this scooter above the iQube.

The scooter gets many premium features which include TFT instrument cluster, smartphone integration, regenerative braking, navigation etc. It is believed that the scooter can be brought and nominated with the road-go edition of the Zeppelin concept. Both names were trademarked by the Company.

The Zeppelin concept model was fitted with a single-cylinder 220 cc engine, generating 20 hp at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 18.5 Nm at 7000 rpm. It was mated to a five-speed gearbox. It is believed that after the launch TVS Zeppelin cruiser will compete with Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Honda Hness CB 350 in the segment.
