A glimpse of the production model of the Tata Gravitas captured in camera, this car can be launched in January

The three-row variant of the Harrier, the Tata Gravitas, is set to take on the MG Hector Plus.

For the first time, its production model has been spotted without any camouflage.

A third additional row of seats will be available in this SUV, Captian seat option will be available on the second row.

It will get options of same engine and transmission combination of Tata Harrier.

The option of a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine can also be found.

Tata Gravitas can be launched in India in January 2021. It was showcased in production-ready form at the Auto Expo 2020. This is a three-row version of the regular model of the Tata Harrier, which will come with minor changes. Now some pictures of it without any camouflage have been clicked.

Only the backside picture of the Gravitas has been clicked. Gravitas gets the slightly different design of taillamps, a thick chrome strip on the boot and a flatter boot hatch. The roof height in the Gravitas has been increased for more headroom in the third row, which is visible only by looking at the rear of this car.

The Tata Gravitas front profile is yet to be seen without a camouflage. However, it is expected that minor changes can be made to its front grille and bumpers also. Apart from this, it can get different design of the alloy wheels. New blue colour has been seen in the clicked Tata Gravitas photos, which is not given in the Harrier. It will be about 80 millimetres higher and 63 millimetres longer than the Tata Harrier.

This upcoming 7-seater SUV can be expected to offer with the same features list as Harrier which includes floating touchscreen infotainment system, JBL speaker system, LED tail lamps, rear parking camera, six airbags, ESP, traction control, panoramic sunroof and semi-digital instrument cluster. Apart from all this, additional features such as front parking sensor, electronic parking brake and connected car technology can also be given in this SUV.

The Tata Gravitas will be powered by the same 2.0-litre kyrotec turbo diesel engine which also does duty on Harrier. On being upgraded as per Bs6 Norms, now this engine is capable of generating 170 Ps of power and 350 Nm of torque. A choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter transmission is being offered with this engine. It is believed that Tata Gravitas could become the first car to have a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine which is being produced by the company.

Tata Gravitas is expected to be launched in January 2021. Its price can be up to Rs 1 lakh more than the regular variants of Harrier. Currently, the Tata Harrier is priced from Rs 13.84 lakh to Rs 20.30 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). After the launch, Tata Gravitas will compete with MG Hector Plus and the upcoming second-generation Mahindra XUV500.
