Tata Altroz Turbo will be launched on 13 January 2021

It will rival the Hyundai i20 Turbo and Volkswagen Polo TSI directly.

Tata Motors is organizing an 'Altroz Media Event' on 13 January 2021. There are speculations that the Tata Altroz Turbo may be launched on this day. This car has also been spotted many times during testing on public roads in the new blue colour shade. In the segment, its competition will be from the new Hyundai i20 Turbo and Volkswagen Polo TSI, both of these cars come with a turbo petrol engine.

Some time ago some RTO documents related to this were leaked according to which Altroz Turbo will come in four variants XT, XT(O), XZ and XZ (O). Whereas at the same time, the regular Altroz is available in a total of six variants which are XE, XM, XM Plus, XT, XZ and XZ(O).

According to RTO documents, the upcoming Tata car will get a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which will generate 110 Ps of power and 140 Nm of torque.

At the Geneva Motor Show 2019, the company showcased the Altroz Turbo with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It is speculated that a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) gearbox may also be offered in its production model.

It will get features like the 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, projector headlamps, cruise control, steering mounted controls, 16-inch alloy wheels and rear parking camera. The difference between turbo variants and regular variants will have new blue colour shade and a turbo badging at the boot.

It is estimated that the Tata Altroz Turbo could be costlier by up to Rs 1 lakh than its regular variant. The price of its regular petrol model is between Rs 5.44 lakh to Rs 7.89 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
