Suzuki Jimny production started in India

Production of the Suzuki Jimny off-road has begun in India at the brand's Gurgaon facility for the international market to meet demand.

The new model of Suzuki Jimny off-road which is its third-generation model had been introduced in 2018 and since then it is being talked about to be brought to India. Maruti Suzuki India limited exhibited the three-door Jimny at the Auto Expo 2020 and this SUV caught the attention of many and there was a demand to bring it.

Now in an exclusive report, we can put legitimacy to it that the production of Suzuki Jimny has been started in India, it is being made for the international market whose export will be started soon. The SUV has received excellent response in Japan as well as in the European market, due to which it is being manufactured in Japan as well as in India. It is being told that production at the company's Kosai, Japan plant has reached maximum capacity despite ramping up. In such a situation it is the right decision to manufacture it in India.

The three-door version of the Suzuki Jimny SUV is being sold in five single and three dual-tone colour options. This dual-tone includes Chiffon Ivory Metallic, Brisk Blue Metallic and Superior white which has been spotted on the streets a while back. Compared to the older version, major changes have been made in its design, but it's styling and tall pillars have been kept as before. At the front Jimny has a rounded headlamp, black grille, turn indicators inside the headlamp cluster, black front bumper with circular fog lamps. Talking about other design highlights, thick black wheel arch cladding, black ORVMs can be seen. Along with this, high mounted stop lamps, black rear bumper, U shaped machine dual-tone alloy wheel, spare wheel on the tailgate, flush type door handles, tail lamp on bumper etc are given.

Suzuki has regularly been extending the reach of Jimny worldwide. Let's say that a few weeks ago it was sold out in Mexico in just 72 Hours. It is believed that the five-door version of this off-road SUV is to be brought next year in India and it can be brought into competition with New Mahindra Thar 2020. Suzuki Jimny is expected to get a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, K15B, mild-hybrid petrol engine which also does duty in Ciaz, XL6, Cross and Vitara Brezza which generates 104.7 bhp of power and 138 Nm of torque. With this, it can come with a five-speed manual or a four-speed torque converter automatic transmission with four-wheel drive system as standard.
