MG Hector Plus 4×4 will be launched in India soon

The six-seater MG Hector Plus will soon get a 4×4 option, with both petrol and diesel variants with autonomous driver assistance.

The MG Hector Plus was launched in India earlier this year and this 6-seater SUV/MPV has been successful in decent sales in the country since then. It is now reported that MG Motors is going to add a 4×4 option to the car soon with the Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS), Which will be in the new 'Savvy' trim level.

Let us know that the Savvy trim will be placed on top of the Sharp variant, which will become the new top-spec trim. It will feature the same autonomous driver ADAS that debuted in the company's Indian market flagship full-size SUV Gloster. This includes front collision alert, automatic emergency braking, radar-based dynamic cruise control, blind-spot monitoring system, automatic parking and some other features.

Hector Plus's new top trim will continue to feature a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity as well as MG's connected car technology. Other features of the car include a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, power-operated front seats, heated ORVMs, gesture control powered tailgate, ambient cabin lighting and much more.

The Hector Plus will be the first car in its segment to get this feature, while the new Mahindra XUV500 is also expected to feature the Autonomous Driver Assist. It will be launched in India next year. The XUV500 will also offer a 4×4 drivetrain on its top variants, like the Hector Plus.

MG Hector Plus safety feature include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control system, tire pressure monitoring system and hill-hold assist. The 4×4 system and ADAS will be offered on both petrol and diesel variants of Hector. The petrol motor is a 1.5-litre turbocharged unit that can produce 143 hp of power and 240 Nm of torque. This unit is available with an optional 48V mild-hybrid system and the diesel engine, on the other hand, is a 2.0-litre unit, which develops 170 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. After the launch, the price of Hector Plus's Savvy trim is expected to be around 1 lakh rupees more. Currently, the price of Hector Plus ranges from Rs 13.73 lakh to Rs 18.68 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). MG Motors will also launch a 7-seater version of Hector Plus in January 2021, which can also get these features.
