The exterior and interior design of the facelift Jeep Compass will undergo considerable changes but will have the same engine options as the outgoing model.
Keeping this in mind, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will soon launch the Jeep Compass facelift (2021 Jeep Compass Facelift) edition in India. The updated model was showcased at the 2020 Guangzhou International Motor show in China and was expected to arrive in the Indian market soon.
According to the new news, the Compass facelift will be launched in India on 23 January 2021 and dealerships in select cities have also started accepting bookings for the same. There are many changes in the design of the new Compass compared to the current Jeep Compass. The headlamps are shaped slightly differently and the front grille gets a new honey pattern.
The car's front bumper has been redesigned and the air dam and fog lamp housings are also different. The design of alloy wheels is new. It also has tweaked Fox Skid Plates. The SUV's interior will also undergo some significant changes. The facelift model is expected to get a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The SUV's touchscreen infotainment system will feature FCA's latest UConnect 5 software, with integrated Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Along with this, the SUV will get new controls for climate control, redesigned AC vents and all-new digital instrument cluster. New options can be found in the seat upholstery and there will be plenty of leather and metal trims to add a premium feel to the cabin.
The range-topping Trailhawk Edition will feature a different design compared to other Compass trims, with greater emphasis on off-roading capability. However, In terms of powertrain options, there is no hope of any change here. The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will continue to feature 1.4-litre turbo petrol and 2.0-litre turbo diesel engines.
The 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine is capable of generating 163 hp of power, while the 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine can generate 173 hp of power. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed automatic. Currently, the Compass is priced from Rs 16.49 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi), but the price of the facelift model may increase slightly. In the segment, it competes with Hyundai Tucson, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500.
