The facelift avatar of the Jeep Compass has been showcased in China and now it's Indian Version will soon be revealed. Jeep has officially released the teaser of the new Compass and by looking at some of its photos, it can be guessed that it has been updated. The Chinese version of the Jeep Compass facelift has thin headlamps on the front part, but if you look at it's latest teaser images, a different lighting setup will be seen in the Indian version. It will feature LED projectors instead of multi-reflector units. Apart from this, it will be given a mesh pattern on the back of the intake slat grill, in which perhaps the camera can also be given inside the grill.
As a cosmetic update, new design tail lamps can be given in the Compass facelift. No information has been given about the interior of the updated Indian model of this SUV, but the Chinese version has a redesigned dashboard with the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apart from this, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster can be provided with a wireless charging pad in the new Compass.
The option of 2.0-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine of the current model can be offered in the facelift Jeep Compass coming to India. The 2.0-litre diesel engine currently generates 170 Ps of power and 350 Nm of torque. With this engine, it offers a 6-speed manual and a 9-speed automatic gearbox. With this engine, it also has an all-wheel-drive option. At the same time, its 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine is capable of generating 163 Ps / 250 Nm with a 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT gearbox option.
Currently, the Jeep Compass price is between 16.49 lakh to 24.99 lakh. Its facelift model can be priced slightly higher. The facelift Jeep Compass will compete with Tata Harrier, MG Hector, and Hyundai Tucson as before. On the pricing front, this car also competes with the Mahindra XUV500. The 2021 Jeep Compass can be launched by February 2021 and bookings can be started once it is showcased.
