Ford India to increase prices of its cars from January 2021

Companies like Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, the country's largest carmakers, are also going to increase the prices of their cars from January 2021.

American carmaker Ford started its businesses in India in 1995 and the company headquartered in India is located in Sholinganallur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company has two plants in India one in Chennai and one in Sanand, Gujarat and it sells a car like Figo, Figo Aspire, Ecosport and Endeavour in India. The company also exports cars made here to 40 countries.

Ford India recently announced that from 1 January, it would raise the prices of its vehicles by 3 per cent to cover increasing input costs. However, the company has also clarified that the price of cars booked in the year 2020 will remain the same at the time of delivery in 2021. That is, the price of previously booked cars will not increase.

Vinay Raina, marketing and sales executive director of Ford India said the prices of all models would be increased by 1-3 per cent, according to which different models would become expensive from around Rs 5000 to Rs 35,000. He said that this increase is due to increase in input cost.

The company further stated that in the last one year, the cost of the company's vehicles has been adversely affected due to the increase in various input costs. Therefore, through a price increase in January 2021, it has become imperative for the company to undergo some of the above-added costs to customers.

Let us tell that before Ford India, the country's largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki had also announced to increase the price of the car and said that its vehicle will become expensive from January 1. Like Ford, Maruti Suzuki has also decided to raise prices due to rising input costs. 

Maruti Suzuki Says that the company's input prices have been adversely impacted by increasing input costs over the years. This is the reason why the company is preparing to collect prices from customers. From January 2021, Maruti Suzuki cars will be costly as well. Recently, Kia Motors and Hyundai have also announced an increase in the prices of their cars.
