FCA to invest $150 million in India, will set up its global digital hub in Hyderabad

Jeep of Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) Group is the only brand in India that is fully active. Here the company produces cars at the Ranjangaon plant in Pune and also produces engine for other companies. Now, this automobile company has announced that it will invest the US$ 150 million to set up its global digital hub in Hyderabad.

The digital hub will be an important part of the Global FCA that will serve as the 'Transformation and Innovation Engine' for the group's global IT strategy. In this regard, FCA, North America and Asia Pacific CIO Mamatha Chamarthi stated that " The primary objective of FCA ICT India is to fully digitalize FCA's automated operations in India as well as worldwide and adopt emerging technology."

We will work towards promoting the global culture and customer-centric environment of innovation and entrepreneurship."

Among the new technologies that the group will focus on is the further development of connected car services, automation, autonomous driving technology and digital showroom experience. Digital showrooms will now be promoted since almost all carmakers introduced digital sales and service due to the corona epidemic.

It is being said that under FCA ICT India, 1000 new jobs will be created in India by the end of 2021 and will further be expanded in the next few years. It will be headed by Karim Lalani. Through this digital hub, the brand will expand its relationship with several ecosystem partners, including Telangana State Universities, Start-Ups and other Strategic partners. Apart from this, FCA will also expand the engineering centre in Chennai.

Regarding this, Dr. Martha Dutta, President and MD, FCA India said, " FCA ICT India is the backbone of our technology which will not only help us in developing products for future mobility but also work better for the customer. This will enable our Indian operations to create digital products and technology for the entire world including India.

Jeep Compass

Currently, the Fiat brand is not doing any work in India, but it is expected that Jeep may launch some more new products here starting with the Jeep compass facelift which can be launched in early 2021.
