The French automobile company Citroën will enter the Indian car market in 2021 with its C5 Aircross mid-size SUV. This SUV will be launched here in the first quarter of 2021, but the company has started work on its other product for India which can be a sub-4 meter compact SUV. It has been spied many times during testing so far and now once again it has been spied during testing on Indian roads.
If you look at the pictures, the company has covered it with camouflage to hide its design. However, its front window has shown some glimpse of its interior. It has a floating touchscreen infotainment system. Talking about the exterior, not much is known as the spy model was seen without alloy wheels, rear wiper and demister, indicating that it is probably a lower version. It is speculated that the company may offer features such as LED illumination, connected car technology, auto AC and dual-tone alloy wheels in the SUV. For passenger safety, features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors can be found standard in all variants, while features like traction and stability control can be also given in the top model.
The company has not yet shared any official information related to this SUV. However, we believe that this SUV to be based on the company's CMP Platform. It is the company's smallest modular platform that is compatible only with two engines 1.2-litre turbo petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. It is being said that getting a petrol engine in it is confirmed, while nothing can be said about the diesel engine.
Citroën small SUV will be manufactured in India and the company will sell it in the international market besides India. The small SUV from Citroën can be priced around Rs. 7 lakh (ex-showroom). In the segment, it will be competed by Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, Toyota Urban cruiser and Kia Sonet.
