The updated Force Gurkha Bs6 edition is expected to be offered with more comfort and features than its previous model.
The key reason for the delay is the growing demand for Force traveller ambulance, according to reports. Indeed, demand for an ambulance has increased due to the health crisis, which has promoted Force Motors to delay production of passenger vehicle and the company is focusing on its other products.
Interestingly, Force Motors has now teamed up with DY works to formulate a new brand strategy for Gurkha, with the launch of the second generation 2020 Mahindra Thar in India competition for Gurkha has increased two-fold.
The new Gurkha BS6 model which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 earlier this year is extremely rugged and focuses on utility rather than comfort and features. That, on the other hand, has been remodelled to be as mainstream as possible.
Force Motors, Managing Director, Prasan Firodia said that we wanted to collaborate with a partner who understood our vision and could help us in carrying forward the story of the next development of Gurkha. DY's approach matches our ambition perfectly. I look forward to creating an exciting story with Gurkha's team.
Let us know that BS6 Gurkha is not only being introduced with a new engine and better exteriors, bit its interior has been redesigned. It will also get features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, dual airbags, ABS, EBD, parking sensors, power windows and perhaps power-operated ORVMs in addition to the MID in the instrument cluster.
The updated Force Gurkha will have a 2.6-litre turbo-diesel engine to deliver power, similar to the older model, but has been updated to meet the latest emission norms. This engine generates 90 Ps of power and 269 Nm of torque. The company may also introduce a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel motor which generates 140 Ps of power and 321 Nm of torque.
