Booking begins for Land Rover Defender Plug-In Hybrid in India

It is said that the Land Rover Defender plug-in hybrid version is the most powerful and fuel-efficient defender with a speed of 0-100 kph in just 5.6 seconds.

Jaguar Land Rover today announced the commencement of booking for its Land Rover Defender Plug-In hybrid in the domestic market. The Defender P400e is the first PHEV from a luxury car producer owned by Tata and is said to be the most powerful and fuel-efficient.

Land Rover new plug-in hybrid Defender gets a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine that works in tandem with a 105 kW electric motor. The P400e has a maximum power output of approximately 400 horsepower and a maximum torque of 640 Nm.

This car has a maximum speed of 209 kmph and can achieve a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.6 seconds. The 2021 Land Rover Defender P400e has a 19.2 kWh battery and can be charged at home or office using a 15 A socket or 7.4 kW AC wall box charger.

Company has confirmed that the upcoming Defender P400e will be sold in a total of four variants SE, HSE, X-Dynamic HSE and X on the Defender 110 and it's delivery is expected to start in the first quarter of the year 2️021 (period April to June 2021).

Let us understand that we will see a series of zero-emission vehicles introduced next year with luxury brands focused on bringing cleaner vehicles to India. Recently the Defender 90 and 110 variants were introduced in India for Rs 73.98 lakh and Rs 90.46 lakh (ex-showroom), which are sold in Base, S, SE, HSE and first Exitiom trims.

The new Defender is based on the new D7x architecture and claims to be the strongest bodied vehicle produced by the brand. This off-road can be purchased in an option of five, six or seven seats. To power it, it has got a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 296 Ps of power and 400 Nm of peak torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is connected to the powertrain.
