Highlights:

To meet the tremendous demand and popularity of the second-gen Thar, Mahindra has to do some restructuring.

For now, bookings for the least expensive versions of Thar AX Std and AX have been suspended as demand for AX (O) and LX is significantly greater.

Only the fixed soft top and side-facing jump seats in the rear come with the AX Std and AX.

The model's AX(O) and LX come with a convertible soft top or fixed hardtop and forward-facing rear seats to choose from.

The waiting time in some towns for the new Thar is already seven months long.

For the last one month, the new generation model of Mahindra Thar has been available for sale and this SUV has become popular in a very short time. As a result, the company is not able to meet customer demand and to meet this, Mahindra is working on some other plan. Recently, the company has stopped the booking of Thar's affordable AX standard and AX variants as their demand is coming down significantly compared to AX(O) and LX variants.

Let us know that only the Thar AX standard and AX variants have a 6-seater layout with fixed soft top and side-facing jump seats in the back. These variants are very similar to the older models of Thar and now customers are liking the new Thar front-facing seats and variants with a convertible or fixed hardtop choice.

Apart from this, the entry-level variant AX standard does not feature mechanical locking differentials. Although the feature of all-wheel drive has been given standard it is being offered only with the turbo petrol engine. Compared to the Thar's AX variant, the AX (O) variant feature extras such as remote key-equipped entry, roll cage, ISOFIX child seat anchor and height-adjustable driver seat. At the same time, a lot of comfortable features have been given in its top variant LX, which includes a choice of an automatic gearbox with petrol and diesel engines. Also, this variant includes features like cruise control, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, roof-mounted speakers, 18-inch alloy wheels and moulded side steps.
