MG Gloster launched in India, price starts at Rs 28.98 lakh

MG seeks to develop itself at both the affordable and luxury ends of India's SUV market.

  • The premium full-size SUV from MG motors the Gloster is priced between Rs. 28.98 lakh and Rs. 35.38 lakh ( ex-showroom, Delhi ).

MG Gloster has been finally launched in India. This full-size premium SUV built on body-on-frame has been introduced in four variants super, smart, sharp and savvy. It's price starts at Rs 28.98 lakh.

All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The company says that this price is only for the first 2000 customers who book it by 31 October 2020. It is being said that after this the rate of this car can increase for the base and top-spec models in particular.

The Gloster is offered with a diesel engine option only. It has a 2.0-litre diesel engine that comes in two states of tune and comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Its two-wheel-drive variant has a single turbo version, which has a power output of 163 Ps and peak torque of 375 Nm. At the same time, all-wheel-drive variants have a twin-turbo setup whose power output is 218 Ps and torque is 480 Nm.

If we talk about safety, The MG Gloster features eight airbags, electronic stability program, rollover mitigation, e-parking brake with auto hold, hill descent control as standard in all variants for passenger safety. It has segment-first autonomous technology which includes features such as Adaptive Cruise control, Lane departure warning, front collision warning and autonomous emergency braking. It also has features like auto parking assist function and a 360-degree camera.

This SUV has been introduced in two sitting layout 6-seater and 7-seater. The 6-seater car has been given caption seats in the middle row. It has features such as premium leather upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, 64 colours ambient lighting, it comes with massage and memory functions as well as ventilation and heating for the driver seat. For entertainment, this vehicle has a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 12-speakers. It also has a wireless charging pad feature.

It is by far the most expensive car of MG Motors in India. While Hector is MG's cheapest car. The MG Gloster is compared to the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mahindra Alturas G4. With the Gloster, MG motors are offering a 3-year/one lakh km warranty, three-year roadside assistance and three-year labour free service as standard.
