Tata Nexon becomes India's most affordable car with sunroof feature

  • The Nexon XM (S) is priced between Rs  8.36 lakh and Rs 10.30 lakh ( ex-showroom, Delhi).
  • Additional feature such as sunroof, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps and steering mounted controls have been added.
  • Earlier, the sunroof was given only in its XZ Plus (S) variant, which cost Rs 10.25 lakh.
  • The XM (S) has been introduced with both petrol and diesel engines and has the option of manual and AMT transmission. 
  • It lacks a touch screen infotainment system, connected car technology, and automatic climate control.

Tata Motors has launched the new mid-variant XM (S) of Nexon to attract customers during the festival season. The Tata Nexon XM (S) has been introduced with both petrol and diesel engines and has the option of manual and AMT transmission.

The price of Nexon new XM (S) variant are as follow:

The new XM (S) variants are positioned between the XM and XZ variants. For this, you will have to pay 51,000 rupees more than the XM variant. However, the best thing is that now those who want a sunroof in a Nexon will have to spend a lot less than before.

This variant has some more feature than the XM model, which makes it premium as well. This list includes automatic headlamps, sunroof, rain-sensing wipers and steering mounted controls. The new XM (S) variant has an electric sunroof which makes the Tata Nexon the most affordable car in India with the sunroof feature. Earlier this feature was available in its XZ+(S) variant, which is priced at Rs 10.25 lakh.

The Nexon new XM (S) variant is equipped with feature such as Electronic stability program, LED DRL's with projector headlamps, multi-drive mode ( Eco, City and sports), hill hold control, auto fold outside rearview mirror, a connect next infotainment system with four speakers and a digital instrument cluster. However, it lacks auto climate control, rear ac vents,  adjustable headrests, height-adjustable driver seats, touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology and smartphone connectivity. The standard safety feature of Tata Nexon is a driver and co-driver airbags, ISOFIX child seat tethers, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and speed alert warning. 

Nexon new XM (S) variants available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol model has a 1.2-litre turbo engine that generates 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque. At the same time, the diesel model has a 1.5-litre engine whose power output is 110 PS and 260 Nm with both engines, it has a 6-speed manual and 6-speed AMT gearbox option.

In the market, Tata Nexon competes with Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and ford ecosport. It will also compete with the upcoming new sub-4 meter SUV's in the market like Kia sonet, Toyota urban cruiser, Renault kiger and Nissan Magnite.
