Hyundai has unveiled the fourth-generation Tucson SUV in the international market. The new Hyundai Tucson will be introduced in some countries with a choice of hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

Fourth-gen Hyundai Tucson

In India, this car is included in the list of expensive Hyundai cars while in the international market it is Hyundai's best selling car. The new-gen Tucson has been completely redesigned with the new futuristic design which the company has named 'Parametric Dynamics" and uses jewel-shaped details on its front grille which makes it more stylish and attractive. Both sides of its grille are equipped with LED daytime running lights which match it's designed quite well. When this light is on, it looks like the corners of the grille themselves have lit up while turned off it seems to be part of the grille. Overall, the new Hyundai Tucson has become a much sportier and premium car than before.

On the backside, here it has a light bar which is connected to the tail lamps on both sides. Here is another feature that looks quite unique is the wiper under the roof spoiler on its rear windscreen. It is fitted in such a way that it does not spoil the design of rear end of the new Tucson. The size of new Tucson has also been increased compared to the earlier, though it will be offered in different sizes in different countries.

New Tucson's cabin is as spacious and clean as before. It also has a large panoramic sunroof as well. The dashboard is almost flat to the horizon with a glossy black finish on the cascading centre console. The AC vents are positioned in horizontal shape that fits well with the dashboard design. It features two 10.25 inch displays in which one serves as an instrument cluster and the other is for the touchscreen infotainment system. Center console design in new-gen Tucson is mostly touch control and the lack of physical buttons leaves the design uninterrupted. Media controls have been given at the bottom of the infotainment system and climate control has been given at the bottom of it, for which a display has also been given.

Many of these features can also be given in the India spec model.

The fourth-generation Tucson will be offered in a total of 9 engine options in the international markets. Its petrol model will get 2.5 litres ( 190 PS ), 2.0 litre ( 156 PS ) and a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine with two power tuning options ( 150 PS / 180 PS ) also equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid technology. It will also get a hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain with 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine with power outputs of 230 PS and 265 PS respectively. Many transmission options will be given with the engine, although the company has not yet shared its information.

Talking about the Indian car market, Hyundai has recently launched the facelift version of the third-generation Tucson, so the chances of launching the next-generation model in India before 2022 are slim. Tucson is currently Hyundai's flagship offering in India and rivals the likes of the Jeep Compass, Skoda Karoq, Volkswagen T-Roc, Tata Harrier and MG Hector. Currently, it is priced between Rs 22.30 lakh to Rs 27.03 lakh ( ex-showroom, Delhi ) with the choices of both petrol and diesel engine options.
