New Hyundai Kona facelift and N line unveiled, soon new design will be seen in kona electric

After getting a new design update, Hyundai Kona has become more stylish and attractive than before.

  • The new Kona is 40 mm longer than it's predecessor, which will give it more legroom space on the rear seats and cargo capacity.
  • It's new sporty N line variant with some N line-specific addition to it's exterior and the interior has been added to the lineup.
  • The Kona hybrid and Kona with regular fuel engines are not available for sale in India. 
  • Only Hyundai Kona electric is sold in India and to be given a facelift update soon.

So now that the teaser is out of the way, Hyundai has taken the wraps off the new Kona it now looks sleeker and streamlined than before. Also, the company has also increased its length, due to which its cargo space and legroom space on the rear seats have increased.

This time the company has also included a new sporty N line in the variant list of this compact SUV.

First of all, let's talk about the standard Kona. It's designed has been updated with some aggressive design line and also gets a flashy protective cladding. Its length has been also increased by 40 mm than it's a pre-facelift model and still features the same muscular profile. For riding, it has 17-inch wheels, while 16-inch and 18-inch wheels will also be available. To give the feel of the new car, the company has also given new LED DRL's in it.

The cabin also gets minor updates. The most significant update is the horizontal layout of the features on the centre console. Ambient lighting has also been included in this. It's interior will also be offered in two-tone light beige and khaki colour scheme in addition to standard black.

In order to give a sporty look to the N-line variant, many more cosmetic updates have been done in it. It uses body colour aerodynamic lip with side fins, replaced with regular skid plate. For riding, 18-inch alloy wheels are standard in it. At the same time, the LED element has also been used on its air intake section. Its interior has also been kept sporty. The interior has also been introduced in the unique one-tone black colour scheme along with red stitching on the seats to give a sporty feel. At the same time, it also has an N line logo on the gear stick and a sporty metal pedals.

Talking about the feature list, both regular Kona and N line variants have features such as a bigger 10.25-inch touch screen infotainment system ( previously given 7 and 8 inch systems ), a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a Harmon Kardon sound system.

There is a slew of safety features that we just hope to see when it reaches our shores and those safety features are:

• Blind-spot collision-Avoidance assist ( BCA )

• Rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist

• Hyundai's smart cruise control (SCC) with stop and go

• Leading vehicle departure alert (LVDA)

• Lane following assist (LFA)

• Intelligent speed limit warning ( ISLW)

• Safe exit warning (SEW)

• Rear seat alert ( RSA )

• Forward collision-Avoidance assist (FCA) (now with optional cyclist detection)

For your information, let us know that the regular fuel engine and the hybrid version of Kona have not been launched in India yet. Hyundai sells only the electric version of Kona in India. It is speculated that the same updates can be found in the facelift Kona electric room.
