Bookings open for 2020 facelifted Honda WR-V

Honda WR-V has been on sale in India for a few years now. Now Honda has unveiled the facelifted WR-V which will launch soon. Honda cars India has also started accepting bookings for 2020 WR-V facelift at all its dealerships for a token amount of Rs 21000 which is refundable and deliveries are expected to begin sometime next month. The facelift 2020 WR-V will get some cosmetic upgrades and a bs6 compliant petrol and diesel engines with some added extra features. launch of facelifted WR-V will take place in the latter half of this month.

Under the hood, the facelift WR-V will share its engine with Amaze compact sedan, which already has been launched with upgraded bs6 compliant engines. The 1.2 litre bs6 petrol engine of Amaze produces 90 Ps of power and 110 Nm of torque while the 1.5 litre bs6 diesel engine of Amaze produces 100 Ps of power and 200 Nm of torque. The pre-facelift WR-V is only available with  5-speed manual transmission for both petrol and diesel engines. But this time Honda might offer a CVT gearbox option with the facelift WR-V because Honda already offers a CVT gearbox option with both the above-mentioned petrol and diesel engines on the Amaze compact sedan.

In term of styling, the facelift WR-V doesn't get any major styling tweaks in its side and rear profile. However, its grille now features horizontal slats instead of a honeycomb pattern in the pre-facelift model. Headlights and chrome bar remain the same as before. The front bumper is also slightly modified with more pronounced crease and little bit tweaks to its blackened bits.

In terms of the feature list, the facelift 2020 WR-V remain largely unchanged just the addition of some features like LED projector headlights with DRLs, LED fog lamps and LED taillamps. besides this, it continues to get features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, automatic climate control, push start/stop button, sunroof, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with android auto and apple car play and a changed seat fabric pattern.

Senior vice president of sales and marketing at Honda cars India Mr Rajesh Goel said that the company is very confident about the facelift WR-V bs6's success. He also added that the facelift Honda WR-V will be able to appeal to customers who follow "an active lifestyle".

With the upgradations to bs6 compliant engines and some minor cosmetic upgrades, the facelifted 2020 WR-V is just a little bit more expensive than the pre-facelift model. Prices of facelift WR-V petrol are expected to go up by Rs 15000 then the previous model and the prices of diesel model are expected to go up by Rs 50000 then the pre-facelift model. Pre-facelift models of WR-V retail at Rs 8.08 lakh for the base model and goes up to Rs 9.95 lakh for the top-end variant ( ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Jazz-based crossover will continue to rival the long list of compact SUV sold in the Indian market which includes facelift Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, facelift Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Ford Eco-sport, and the upcoming Kia Sonet.
