India-spec Hyundai Creta Pre-launch bookings open

Hyundai India has started accepting bookings for the India spec 2020 Creta for a token amount of Rs 25000 which is refundable. Second-gen Creta 2020 will be available in a total of five variants which are - E, EX, S, SX, and SX(O) when it goes on sale on 17 March 2020. The price range of 2020 Creta is expected to start from Rs 10 lakh and goes up to Rs 16 lakh for the top-end variant and when launched it will take on the like of the Kia Seltos, Renault Capture, Nissan Kicks, Lower variant of Tata Harrier, Upcoming Mahindra Scorpio and XUV 500, MG Hector and, upcoming Skoda Karoq. The company had already unveiled the second-gen Creta at the Auto Expo 2020 at Greater Noida. You can book 2020 Creta both online and offline.

The Indian spec variant of 2020 Creta gets a completely new and different interior layout as compared to the Chinese version of the same SUV which is sold as ix25. But in terms of exterior styling, it's very hard to spot any difference between the Indian spec Creta and Chinese spec ix25. The second-gen Creta dual-tone black and beige theme interior theme are not only seen on the dashboard, but also on the seats which are pierced and have a criss-cross diamond stitch design which is similar to its Chinese counterpart. The steering wheel of 2020 Creta is new and looks quite similar to the latest Hyundai sonata sedan's steering wheel and comes with the controls for audio, telephony and cruise control systems. New Creta will feature a fully digital instrument cluster that is we are expecting to get on higher variants. This 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster is likely to be shared with upcoming facelift Verna sedan and third-gen i20 both of which are going to launch in India in the coming months.

Some features that the new 2020 Creta will come with are air purifier just like the seltos, a remote engine starts feature for the manual gearbox variant and paddle shifters for the automatic gearbox variant. It will come with six drive modes three drive modes for the engine and three drive modes depending upon the traction. Modes for the engine are comfort, eco, and sport and modes depending upon traction are snow, mud, and sand. Higher variants will come with four disc brakes.

The feature list of second-gen Creta in terms of comfort will include rear window shades, additional cushion on the rear headrest, leatherette upholstery, a reclining feature for the rear seats, LED reading lamps, a cooled glovebox, and front and rear USB charging sockets.

The dashboard layout for new Creta is unique and it features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit that is landscape oriented not like the ix25 portrait layout. Hyundai's connected car technology Bluelink that first debuted in  Venue compact SUV will be seen on the new Creta along with the smartwatch app. New Creta will also come with ambient lighting, an 8-speaker boss sound system, a tire pressure monitoring system. Electronic parking brakes, Automatic climate control, Cooled seats, wireless charging, and a panoramic sunroof will be standard on higher variants.

In terms of exterior styling, new Creta will get a large cascading grille that is also seen on all newer Hyundai models. It will get a new split headlight set up which has LED DRL's on the top with LED headlights and a new look for the fog lamp below which Hyundai call trio beam LED headlamps. New Creta will feature squared out wheel arches that will add muscles to its overall looks. But the glasshouse of new Creta looks similar to its older model. In higher variants, you will get dual-tone paint scheme new 17-inch alloy wheels. The back profile of new Creta features split LED tail lamps and low set number plate. New 2020 Creta will available in eight color options- polar white, typhoon silver, phantom black, lava orange, titan grey, galaxy blue, red mulberry, and deep forest. Two dual-tone color options are also available for the top-end variant polar white with phantom black and lava orange with phantom black.

New Creta will be available in a total of three engine options- a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that will produce 115 hp of power and can be had with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox, a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine that will also produce 115 hp of power and will come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a torque converter automatic gearbox, and a 1.4-liter turbo petrol engine which is also does duty on Kia Seltos GT Line variant and will be available with 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.

After the launch of second-gen Creta, Hyundai is expected to launch the facelift Verna in India soon. Facelift Verna will be identical to the Russian spec model which debuted recently. And just like the second-gen Creta the facelift Verna will also be available with multiple Bs6 engine options along with some additional features.
