Just after the leak of third-gen Hyundai i20 exterior official images, Hyundai India has now revealed various details about the third-gen model of i20 ahead of its official debut at Geneva Motor Show next month. Interiors of upcoming new third-gen i20 are still under wraps, but the Korean carmaker has released an official sketch of the interior as well as a list of features that the third-gen i20 will offer. The new third-gen model of i20 will launch in India in mid this year, just before the festival season starts.

The official interior sketch which the company has released the day before yesterday gives us a glimpse that what to expect from the interior of the new third-gen Hyundai i20.The cabin of new 2020 third-gen i20 looks modern with features like a four-spoke steering wheel which looks quite similar to the one on the Creta 2020 facelift, which was recently shown at Auto Expo 2020. The steering wheel features brushed aluminum inserts and leather wrapping with mounted buttons for Bluetooth telephony, Cruise control, and other functions. The interior of new i20 2020looks quite sculpted with multilayer and horizontal blades that run across the dashboard. This design element is first seen on the pre-facelift Audi Q7. The cabin of third-gen i20 looks a lot different than the current car which gets a very conventional layout.

The modern feature which will further enhance the appeal of i20 2020. It will get a fully digital instrument cluster which is first for an i20 coupled with a huge free standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Both the screens sit side by side in a similar fashion as seen in Hyundai Nios and Kia Seltos. Lower variants are expected to get an 8.0-inch infotainment system. The infotainment system will also feature a wireless android auto and apple car play with Hyundai's blue link connected car tech which we have previously seen on the Hyundai Venue. The new i20 2020 will also get a Bose seven-speaker premium sound system and an official sketch of the cabin also confirm that it will get ambient interior lighting. The center console design of third-gen i20 is simple yet functional. It will get multi USB slots and a dedicated slot for wireless charging. It will also get a sunroof which was spied earlier.
Hyundai has loaded the new i20 on the safety front also. Globally the safety kit includes a satellite navigation based cruise control, an intelligent speed limiter, lane follow assist, parking collision avoidance system, blind-spot detection system, forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, rear cross-traffic alert, parking assist, and a tech to tell you that vehicle in front of you have moved and you haven't in slow-moving traffic. All these features are on offer on Euro-spec i20 lets see which features boils down to the India spec i20. The third-gen i20 is 30 mm wider than the current model elite i20 and has a 10 mm longer wheelbase. The boot space which it offers is 351 liters which are 66 liters more than the current model.
The Korean carmaker has been testing the new i20 for almost a year now. It will see a market introduction in mid of this year just before the festival season starts. The third-gen i2 will face stiff competition from recently launched Tata Altroz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and upcoming refreshed Bs6 version of Honda Jazz which was slated to launch in a few months. Prices are expected to start from Rs 5.7 lakh ( ex-showroom ).
